At Nordel Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic, Sunil Sakkarwal and Gurdeep Gill Sakkarwal provide a full complement of therapeutic services for healing body ailments and promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The couple has been in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. Both have enjoyed successful careers as Physiotherapists, Yoga Teachers, and Personal Trainers. They are pleased to apply their knowledge, training, and experience to treating and working with clients at Nordel Physio, providing individualized care and one-to-one therapy for resolving pain, recovering from injury, and promoting overall fitness.
Gurdeep completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in 2005 from the MGM Medical College, DAVV University, Indore, India, and Master of Sports Physiotherapy degree in 2007 from the GNDU University, Amritsar,India.
She did her postgraduate research paper on Comparison of Efficacy of Thera-Band, Plyometric and Combination Training on strength of Quadriceps evaluated on Isoinertial Dynamometer. This research paper was published in the Journal of Sports authority of India (2007). She has presented scientific papers at the Annual Conference of Indian Association of Sports Medicine in 2005 and 2006.Since her graduation, she has been practicing Physiotherapy. She is licensed for IMS/Dry Needling treatment and she is presently pursuing Acupuncture.
Gurdeep has experience in teaching as well. She was visiting lecturer at MGM Medical College, India, for Yoga Therapy. In 2010, she became a registered Yoga Instructor and Personal Trainer with BCRPA. She has worked as a Yoga instructor at the South Surrey Recreation Center and as a Yoga Instructor on a KVOS TV show. She has been consulted on Red FM a few times as a Physiotherapist, and recently was a speaker on iCON. Gurdeep’s professional attitude involves an integrative approach. Her treatment technique focuses on both assessment and treatment, to maximize functional recovery. She believes the best results can be achieved from a positive approach, and that a positive environment can improve health and quality of life.
Gurdeep is an active person. She does yoga every day and various fitness activities to maintain her own positive health and fitness, and she is a proud Vancouver Sun Run finisher.
Sunil Sakkarwal has been in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. He is a registered Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer and Weight Trainer with BCRPA and he has enjoyed a successful career as a Physiotherapist and Yoga Instructor. Sunil’s recent experience includes:
As a Health and Fitness expert he was a guest speaker on radio RED FM Vancouver, 93.1FM, and on Joy TV. He has presented Yoga workshops on Yoga for Fitness, Office Yoga, and Chair Yoga, and a seminar on the role of Yoga for Injury Prevention and Healing.
Sunil is passionate about helping people overcome injuries and physical challenges, as well as developing their personal fitness for long term health and well-being.
Ramanpreet completed her Master of Administrative Science:
Specialization in Global Health and Human Services in 2018 from
Fairleigh Dickinson University, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and
Bachelor of Nursing at from Jaslok College of Nursing, Mumbai, India.
She is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
Ramanpreet exhibits her administrative approach through scheduling
appointments, effective communication with the staff members and
patients. She brings that passion to her ability to greeting the
patients, serve clients and ensure they are set up with Direct Billing
and ease of access to Claims
Lerry completed her Hospital Support Specialist program in 2013 from Stenberg College Surrey BC.
She has been in the health industry for over 6 years. Lerry is also working at BC Cancer Agency Vancouver Centre in Health Information Management as a Health Records Clerk.
Lerry is responsible for providing patients with a high quality of customer care service, maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures and by complying with legal regulations. She has good management and administrative skills.
She is a dedicated professional with proven success in treating patients with acupuncture, cupping and Gua Sha. She is adept in diagnosing ailments and treats them.
She believes in treating patients’ ailments and diseases. The most important aspect of treating people is their hearts. I treat all of my patients with care and sensitivity as if they were my own family members.
