At Nordel Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic, Sunil Sakkarwal and Gurdeep Gill Sakkarwal provide a full complement of therapeutic services for healing body ailments and promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The couple has been in the health and fitness industry for over 25 years. Both have enjoyed successful careers as Physiotherapists, Yoga Teachers, and Personal Trainers. They are pleased to apply their knowledge, training, and experience to treating and working with clients at Nordel Physio, providing individualized care and one-to-one therapy for resolving pain, recovering from injury, and promoting overall fitness.
Gurdeep completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in 2005 from the MGM Medical College, DAVV University, Indore, India, and Master of Sports Physiotherapy degree in 2007 from the GNDU University, Amritsar,India.
She did her postgraduate research paper on Comparison of Efficacy of Thera-Band, Plyometric and Combination Training on strength of Quadriceps evaluated on Isoinertial Dynamometer. This research paper was published in the Journal of Sports authority of India (2007). She has presented scientific papers at the Annual Conference of Indian Association of Sports Medicine in 2005 and 2006.Since her graduation, she has been practicing Physiotherapy. She is licensed for IMS/Dry Needling treatment and she is presently pursuing Acupuncture.
Gurdeep has experience in teaching as well. She was visiting lecturer at MGM Medical College, India, for Yoga Therapy. In 2010, she became a registered Yoga Instructor and Personal Trainer with BCRPA. She has worked as a Yoga instructor at the South Surrey Recreation Center and as a Yoga Instructor on a KVOS TV show. She has been consulted on Red FM a few times as a Physiotherapist, and recently was a speaker on iCON. Gurdeep’s professional attitude involves an integrative approach. Her treatment technique focuses on both assessment and treatment, to maximize functional recovery. She believes the best results can be achieved from a positive approach, and that a positive environment can improve health and quality of life.
Gurdeep is an active person. She does yoga every day and various fitness activities to maintain her own positive health and fitness, and she is a proud Vancouver Sun Run finisher.
Jay is a graduate of the Registered Massage Therapy program at Vancouver Career College. His journey in massage therapy have begun from his sport injury when he was a soccer player. He is passionate about helping patients from chronic pain due to poor posture or working, motor vehicle accidents, stress, and sport or work injuries.
Tony graduated from the Massage Therapy program at the Vancouver Career College and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. During his training, he was able to participate in many outreach opportunities and treated patients with various conditions. He worked with elderly patients, athletes, individuals with mental or physical disabilities, and those living with HIV and cancer. Additionally, he had a great deal of experience in treating ICBC patients. Some of the common injuries related to ICBC patients include, whiplash, severe headaches, muscle strain, nerve damage, and disc herniation.
Tony will assess your condition, give you options for treatment, and work with you to achieve your desired results. Whether you have issues such as pain and soreness from daily activities or age related, stress and tension headache, sport or other injury, limited range of motion, rehabilitation, health maintenance or just relaxation, you will be in good hands.
Tony delivers effective treatments by incorporating different modalities such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, active and passive stretching, Swedish and deep tissue massage. Daniel graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and is a registered member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists. Daniel is a certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is currently working towards his Nutrition Coach certification.
Growing up, Daniel was involved in physical activity. He played sports, such as basketball, hockey, and volleyball. Daniel also enrolled in martial arts and began lifting weights shortly after. During this time, Daniel discovered his passion for active living and decided to pursue a career in the health field.
Daniel likes to spend his time working out, playing hockey, or with family and friends.
Farshid is a Registered Acupuncturists with the College of Acupuncturists of BC (CTCMA). He received his diploma of acupuncture from Reeves College in 2019, and received doctorate degree in medicine in Iran in 2001, and practiced as a medical doctor for 10 years.
With a solid western medical background, Farshid effectively integrated western and eastern medicine in his daily practice.

Farshid utilizes a combination of acupuncture, tuina (chinese massage), cupping, moxabastion and guasha in his practice.
With over 10 years of experience as a physiotherapist in South Korea, Daniel has a strong
foundation in the rehabilitation and treatment of various conditions, including disc disease, strain,
motor vehicle accidents (MVA), scoliosis, and postural dysfunction cases.
Upon moving to Canada, Daniel continued his education and graduated from the Vancouver
Career College as a registered massage therapist. His commitment to his patients and their
goals is evident in his extensive training in manual therapies and massage techniques, including
fascia release, trigger points, active release, and position release.
Daniel's commitment to enhancing his massage techniques and embracing new concepts reflects his
dedication to providing exceptional patient care. His openness to learning and adaptability can
significantly benefit clients. Beyond work, he finds joy in watching movies and spending time with his
daughters, showcasing a balanced approach to life essential for well-being.
