Yoga is not only aspiritual science, it is an art of living as well. Yoga teaches practical methods to bring body, mind, and soul together. The word yoga itself means “union”; of the Individual Consciousness with the Universal Consciousness.Yoga is a system of self-realization, which also brings physical well-being.

Yoga is a very ancient science; it is more than five thousand years old.Classical yoga, as defined by Patanjali, in theeight limbs(yoga Sutra).

The first two limbs are ethical disciplines (Yamas and Nyamas). Then postures (Asanas) and breathing exercises (Pranayama). The last four limbs are meditative limbs: control of the sense (Prathyara), concentration (Dharana), meditation (Dhyana) and enlightenment (Samadhi).

At Nordel Physio, we teach the value of yoga, both spiritual and physical, and work with our clients, one to one, to help them learn and embrace the eight limbs. The long-term benefits of practicing yoga include strength and balance of the mind and body.

“You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.”

– Wayne W. Dyer
