Meet the Nordel Physio TeamAt Nordel Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic, Sunil Sakkarwal and Gurdeep Gill Sakkarwal provide a full complement of therapeutic services for healing body ailments and promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The couple has been in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. Both have enjoyed successful careers as Physiotherapists, Yoga Teachers, and Personal Trainers. They are pleased to apply their knowledge, training, and experience to treating and working with clients at Nordel Physio, providing individualized care and one-to-one therapy for resolving pain, recovering from injury, and promoting overall fitness.
Gurdeep completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in 2005 from the MGM Medical College, DAVV University, Indore, India, and Master of Sports Physiotherapy degree in 2007 from the GNDU University, Amritsar, India.
She did her postgraduate research paper on Comparison of Efficacy of Thera-Band, Plyometric and Combination Training on strength of Quadriceps evaluated on Isoinertial Dynamometer. This research paper was published in the Journal of Sports Authority of India (2007). She has presented scientific papers at the Annual Conference of Indian Association of Sports Medicine in 2005 and 2006. Since her graduation, she has been practicing Physiotherapy.
She is licensed for IMS/Dry Needling treatment and for Acupuncture, Acupuncture Canada.
Gurdeep has experience in teaching as well. She was visiting lecturer at MGM Medical College, India, for Yoga Therapy. In 2010, she became a registered Yoga Instructor and Personal Trainer with BCRPA. She has worked as a Yoga instructor at the South Surrey Recreation Centre and as a Yoga Instructor on a KVOS TV show.
She has been consulted on Red FM a few times as a Physiotherapist, and she is also a panel member of iCON, Digital Emergency Medicine, UBC, iCON (interCultural Online Health Network) is an exciting initiative that promotes health education to Punjabi-speaking and Chinese-speaking communities across the province.
Gurdeep’s professional attitude involves an integrative approach. Her treatment technique focuses on both assessment and treatment, to maximize functional recovery. She believes the best results can be achieved from a positive approach, and that a positive environment can improve health and quality of life.
Gurdeep is an active person. She does yoga every day and various fitness activities to maintain her own positive health and fitness, and she is a proud finisher of Vancouver Sun Run 10k, Red FM 10k and Run for Cancer society 5k events.
Sunil Sakkarwal has been in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. He is a Registered Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer and Weight Trainer with BCRPA and he has enjoyed a successful career as a Physiotherapist and Yoga Instructor. Sunil holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from the National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research, Cuttack, India

As a Health and Fitness expert, he was a guest speaker on radio RED FM Vancouver, 93.1FM, and on Joy TV. He has presented Yoga workshops on Yoga for Fitness, Office Yoga, and Chair Yoga, and a seminar on the role of Yoga for Injury Prevention and Healing.
Sunil is passionate about helping people overcome injuries and physical challenges, as well as developing their personal fitness for long term health and well-being.
Ramanpreet completed her Master of Administrative Science: Specialization in Global Health and Human Services in 2018 from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and Bachelor of Nursing at Jaslok College of Nursing, Mumbai, India. She is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi. Ramanpreet is exhibiting her administrative approach through scheduling appointments, effective communication with the staff members and patients. She brings that passion to her ability to greeting the patients, serve clients and ensure they are set up with Direct Billing and ease of access to Claims.
Tamanna completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Canadian Business Management in 2019 from Vancouver Community College, British Columbia, Canada and Masters of Business Administration with Specialization in International Business in 2016 from PCTE Group of Institutes, Baddowal, Ludhiana, India and Bachelors of Commerce degree in 2014 from Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, India.
She has great command in all three languages i.e. English, Hindi, and Punjabi with strong communication skills. Tamanna is passionate about providing great customer service and performs with a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and reliability. She exhibits her brilliance by responding to inquiries quickly and efficiently along with dealing with the customers with great ease and providing solutions to their problems.
Liang-Shu (Amy) is a dedicated professional with proven success in her professional career. She is treating patients with acupuncture, cupping and Gua Sha. She is adept in diagnosing ailments and treats them.
She believes in treating patients’ ailments and diseases. The most important aspect of treating people is their hearts. She treats all patients with care and sensitivity as if they were my own family members.
She believes learning is a lifelong process and necessary to provide the best care of patients.
Marc has been in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. He is a Registered Kinesiologist with the BC Association of Kinesiology(BCAK).
He is also ACE-certified Personal Trainer, Certified TRX Instructor, Level 1 Agatsu Kettlebell, Kickboxing Instructor and Certified Group Cycling Instructor.
Marc has also played a variety of sports for over 15 years, most notably soccer at the Collegiate Level for the CCAA. Besides this, he also coaches young athletes of Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby, and Soccer, which drove him to gain experience through the strength and conditioning side of athletics at the collegiate level.
He realized his passion for exercise physiology through his years studying sports science and is passionate about helping others reach their full potential, whether it be in sport or life.
